I have worked for years offering weekly individual and group therapy.  I moved to an intensive treatment model because I found that many people struggled with making the transition to and from therapy when services were limited to an hour.  I found more and more that new avenues for exploration began to open up with only fifteen minutes left in the therapy session.  I wanted to offer the opportunity for people to explore and experience a healing process without feeling rushed or limited by time constraints, and without feeling that they needed to hold back their emotional experience so that they could return to work or home life immediately after processing a traumatic memory.

Therapy intensives (typically, but not always, EMDR intensives) offer you the chance to go deeper, and immerse yourself in the therapy process for either a half or a full day (3, 4, or 6 hours).  This significantly speeds up the process of trauma processing, and can allow for significant progress after only one session. By spending a longer and uninterrupted amount of time reprocessing trauma, you can experience faster and stronger relief from debilitating trauma symptoms.

**Please note, while EMDR intensives are evidence-based and at least as effective as weekly EMDR therapy, insurance companies do not cover this service, so all intensives are for private pay clients.  Insurance may cover your intake session.

**I am not currently accepting clients for weekly individual therapy, and am not maintaining a wait list.  If you are interested in discussing therapy intensives, please contact me.

Weekly therapy is an excellent method for exploring yourself and your past.  Many people benefit from the space between sessions to reflect and notice how the issues brought up in therapy impact their life.  Individual therapy sessions are also often covered by insurance (either directly if I am in network with your carrier, or through out of network benefits), making them a more cost-effective option for people with limited financial resources.

My concentration in graduate school was group work, and I greatly value the process of mutual aid that happens in both therapy and support groups.

I do not have any open groups at this time.  Please reach out if you are interested in group therapy so I can put you on a wait list.

I very much value therapy as a modality; however, I appreciate that not everyone desires therapeutic modalities as the primary or sole process through which they move towards healing and wholeness.  I have extensive training in shamanism, and offer coaching and other services through a shamanic lens.  If you are interested in these services, or would like to learn more about the trainings I offer, please visit my other website at shamanssongs.com
